The History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russel is a good read. Yes, my thoughts on the book are vague. Personally, I wouldn't waste the time typing a description of the book, only to have one or two people read it.

"Letters To A Young Poet", by Ranier Maria Rilke.

It is a book of actual letters from the poet, Rilke, to a young man. It would change their life by offering his brilliant insight and definitely make a difference for the better.

Book I would reccomend least : Holy Bible.

The Holy Bible... because everyone should read it.

For entertainment, I'd say LOTR, because it has a lot of good messages and is just awesome.
