Talk to your doctor. When I was about 25 weeks pregnant I had an episode where I felt like I had to go to the bathroom but then I got sever pain in my back and it hurt to take a deep breath. I went to the hospital. They checked the babies vitals and after the symptoms eased they told me I had gas. They said that gas could be really intense when pregnant. I felt really stupid for going to the hospital for gas. When I had another bad episode I called the doctor on call. He said to drink soda. After I burped I did feel better. About 2 weeks after having my son via c-section I had another episode. It was the worst by far. In the morning I went to see my regular doctor. As soon as she saw me and touched my side she diagnosed me with gall stones. A sonogram confirmed it. She told me that gallbladder disease is very common in pregnancy. When my son was only 6 weeks old I had to have a 2nd abdominal surgery to remove my gall bladder. I don't want to scare you but bring it up to your doctor. Make sure they check your health not just your baby's. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Moving around sometimes helps as do the warm baths...but the key is to prevent the gas. If you're constipated try getting more fiber in your diet. Keeping your bowels moving regularly will keep the gas from building up in the first place.

Sometimes it's caused by mild constipation. Talk to your dr first, but I was on stool softeners for the majority of my pregnancy for the same reasons. It kept me more "regular", and helped to keep gas from forming around dry stool. Your body tries to eke as much nutrition as possible from what you eat, and the result is lots of gas and very slow bowels.

I have the same problem. Try eating smaller meals and avoid the common causes like broccoli and beans. It is safe to take simethicone as this is not absorbed by the body in any way. I just lay down and wait for it to pass.......I swear it hurts like hell though!

Lay on your side it helps it move and eventually "vent". Also, a warm bath or something warm to drink. Good luck I know how you feel.

I had the same problem and friend of mine told me to drink fennel seeds tea - works incredibly, solves the problem in half hour.
