i dont trust the church enough to give to it, but somehow i give to random homeless people on the street, and its not exactly because i trust them.
And no, its not because im afraid of being knifed or shot either.

I give to the homeless. If he goes out and gets a beer afterwards, I figure he must have something to celebrate.

We give to the church but I always felt guilty when I passed a homeless person on the street. So instead of giving the person money so he could buy alcohol or drugs, we give to the local soup kitchen. That way I know the money is going to food not drugs and now I don't feel guilty anymore.

Lol, yeah I'm more acceptable to giving my spare change to the homeless than the church

I'll tell you what helped me about giving to both. I'm giving because God said give, so I'm basically giving money to God.
Now what the homeless person or the church does with it is not for me to think about. God will take care of them. I just do what God says to do.

It's illegal in my city to give money to homeless who are soliciting it. You'll help them more by volunteering at the homeless shelter and giving the shelter food, blankets, and clothes. They call it "enabling" for a good reason.

I love it when Americans use the word bum. I have done ever since I was little - it's like those films, where the "cop" says 'Put your hands up ya bum'. I laugh like a drain every time.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Are you saying you go to church but don't trust them? If so, maybe you shouldn't be going to the church.

I don't give money to either. As it has been said, the worst injustice is giving to the undeserving.
