dla68 gave you the wrong answer because he/she did 5 9/4 divided by 3 5/6. but u asked the opposite, right? If u did then I can 100% guarantee you it is 46/87. if u meant 5 9/4 divided by 3 5/6, then 87/46 is the answer.

change both to improper fractions
3 5/6 = 23/6
5 9/4 = 29/4
So you are asking for 5 9/4 divided by 3 5/6?
if so 29/4 divided by 23/6 is the same as 29/4 *6/23
=174/92which reduces to 87/46

5+9/4 restated is 29/4
3+5/6 restated is 23/6
Least common denom is 12, so restated we now have 87/12 div by 46/12, and restating again we can say 87/46. No further reduction is possible, as the factors for 87 are 3x29, and those for 46 are 2x23.

1st get both into improper fractions
3 5/6=18/6+5/6=23/6
5 9/4=20/4+9/4=29/4
(29/4)/(23/6)=(29/4)(6/23)=174/92=87/46=1 41/46
