I just broke my foot and was prescribed vicodin. My friend came to my house and went upstairs for something and the next day, the whole bottle turned up missing. I never took them anywhere, I always left them in the exact same spot. I hadn't even used them. What should I do? Should I call the police on my friend? Should I tell his supervisor? I have been blowing up his phone nonstop and he won't answer or call me back. I thought he was my friend. What should I do?

If he/she won't return your phone calls, then don't feel bad about calling the cops. He/she is apparently not really your friend.

You feel betrayed by someone you trusted.

And he has a drug problem, or he would not have stolen your vicodin.

You could try to straighten him out, but if he doesn't want to be - you are just asking for a long fight.

If you called the police - could you prove he stole it? Or, would he swear, that you gave it to him?

If you called his supervisor - what do you think the supervisor could do? About the same as you? Threaten to fire him? But what proof does the supervisor have that you are telling the truth and not just a mad ex-girlfriend?

I would call the doctor and ask for a refill.

As for your "friend", would a friend steal your pain medicine when you were in need of it? I would just write him off, and have nothing to do with him. Its obvious, he thought more of the benefit he could get from stealing your medicine than he did of you. Sad, but true. In a few weeks, expect him to come back - but he may only be after a refill. I would tell him, to get lost.

Hi! Is this a friend you want to keep? If he is a close friend that you really care about, you need to confront him with the facts and talk to him about how you feel. Give him the opportunity to tell you the truth. Suggest he may need help. Be supportive and tell him you will not tolerate this type of behavior. If he is addicted to pills then I think you need to help or offer to help find help (professional).

If he is just a casual type of friend, still confront, and tell him if he ever does some thing like this again, you will report it to the police. Stealing medication is a serious crime. Remind the person that he could end up" doing time for stealing drugs.

The fact that he is avoiding you only makes it worse. Follow thru with whatever you do. You are not wrong!

You may want to inform the police or somebody of the fact that it is missing, and you suspect it may have been stolen. Your name is on the bottle, and if someone overdoses and dies from this stuff, it could be linked to you. Just for your own legal protection against someones idiocy someone should be informed so they can look back and see that you did report it missing. Also, your "friend" really isn't if he is stealing from you. I had a friend who stole a bunch of stuff from me, and he appears to be druggie, so it's only going to get worse from here on out.

I would call the police AND tell his supervisor and hope they will do something about it. That is SO messed up. I can't stand it when I see people asking injured people for some of their pain medication; it's so cracked out and greedy. And THIS guy took ALL of yours? Wtf? I really hope your doctor will give you some more. :(

P.S.-Crackheads will lie about anything. So if you tell all your friends what he did, he will just lie and probably even rally people against you.

he is not your friend. go to his house and confront him. or just never allow him to come back into your life. he has a drug problem. you don't need that drama. you shouldn't tell the police or his supervisor unless you are positive. this is a serious allegation. good luck.

If you aren't living with anyone and nobody else has been there, then it sounds like this person is hooked on drugs. I may be wrong. Maybe you should go to their house when you can and sneak around and look for them.

if he doesn't pick up the phone soon, maybe you should tell his supervisor. but if you do, make sure that he really did take it. i had a friend who stole something from me once, and i know how much it can hurt. it also sucks.
