Why is being "Fat" such a big thing in the USA?

It's such a sensitive and big subject for americans, i mean look at "The simpsons" how many of the male charecters are drawn to have a chubby figure, its so normal in america, but than again we all know how much they eat, look at Walmart, one of the most richest companies in the world, for selling food to americans.

America is the worlds fattest country, we eat more than our fair share of the world's food supply. The fact that our cartoons are fat is because that's what makes most americans laugh. The fat, bumbling, can't-do-anything-right father and his constantly drunk and fat best friend getting into trouble amuses us.

Wal-mart didn't start selling food. They sold the basics at first, but they realized that selling food for cheaper than most grocery stores was the way to go. Wal-mart is just smarter than most companies.

Who the hell is "WE" and just how much do we eat? Please fill me in! I believe It's a sensitive thing because it was brainwashed in our heads in a obscure way just like it was taught to you to make you ask this question. Over the years and years overweight people got picked on and now it is out of control. It doesn't need to be a sensitive subject, it's just that our government now started a fire that they can't put out so they in turn to cover their asses, keep bringing up how "awful" it is to be fat. It's all brainwashing. How come we don't pick on alcoholics, druggies, cancer patients, car accident victims, gun shot victims, war vets, or paraplegics? Why aren't we sensitive about all of those people? People weigh what they weigh, and people are what they are, who they are, and why they are the way they are. Here is a reality check!!! Our stupid ***** country spends billions of dollars helping other bullls***t countries who we think we need to save when we can't even save ourselves. I also highly doubt that Wal Mart is to blame. Only a very small percentage of Wal Marts profits come from food.

Being fat is sensitive to Americans because most of them are, were or will be. Also, fat people are judged differently from thinner people, because even though we've gotten used to fatness, it doesn't make it 'normal' or 'acceptable'. You could say that fat Americans are suffering from America's own success. And foodsellers, like Wal-Mart, know what they're doing and don't care. In their eyes, they don't have to: everyone can decide for him/herself what to put into their mouths.

It's a sensitive issue for most fat people because they don't want to have to fact the fact that they messed up, and are currently unhealthy and unattractive. They're embarassed.
