Any nation that denies the holocaust should not be about to play in the world cup no exceptions. I understand your feelings. Im from Iran and i hate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad he is a horrible leader. Anyone who chooses him over Bush is nuts. But alot of Iranians will go crazy if we were banned in the world cup. But i do understand your anger and no Iran has no chance of winning the world cup.

No, as an Iranian, realistically with teh state of political influence on football's administration this isn't possible. There is SO MUCH corruption that makes the UN oil for food scandal like a legal procedure. Uh, yea most of Iran doesnt like Ahmedinejad. However, dont think all or even most Iranians think this. Even ht president himself probably doesnt. He probably just said to stir some controversy. The world cup is the best footballing nations that dont violate basic civil rights. irans government, while oppresive doesnt violate incredible civil rights like Sudan does.

To win the World Cup, the following would need to happen:
1) they would have to find 20 decent players at the same time
2) get the financial backing from sponsors
3) invest heavily in a league and a youth system
4) need a miracle for every other major team in the world to become rubbish

Best Iranian team for twenty years.would do well to finish third in group but could be a surprise team in round of 16.good passing side but proliferating in midfield.prob best suited to parking the bus and hitting teams on the break.good luck to them an y way.

yes they can. They certainly have the money to make a program, but are they willing. Building the Persian empire was a hell of alot harder.
