DO you mean
(3+5)/12 + (5+1)/4 - (2+7)/20
?

If so, first do the additions to get
8/12 + 6/4 + 9/20
Then, simplify the terms you can:
2/3 + 3/2 + 9/20

Then, you need a common denominator, which is 60
40/60 + 90/60 + 27/60

or, (40+90+27)/60
which is 157/60
which is (120 + 37)/60 = 2 + 37/60

(3+5)/12 + (5+1)/4 - (2+7)/20 ?

that will make 8/12 + 6/4 - 9/20

to solve this, get the LCD oe Least Common Denominator...

that is 60...

it will become 40/60 + 90/60 - 27/60...

solve... 103/60... in mixed number, this is 1 43/60
