we are getting to the point that we need some kind of truth and reconciliation commission. people can say what happened, what their boss told them to say, etc., with no repercussions.

Wes Clark has the experience, leadership, and knowledge, to be the best President in the past 50 years certainly.
First in class at West Point, Rhodes Scholar, graduated from both Ranger and Airborne schools
He understands the best of Conservative thought, having been raised in Arkansas, and 30 years in the Army, but also has seen the best and worst of European social issues, and has negotiated many peace treaties, so he can find the highest ideal of Liberal thought as well.
England and Holland thought enough of him to give him Honorary Knighthoods, that he should be a national hero here as well if we had an honest Media
Those who hate peace, freedom, and democracy will try and Swiftboat him as they will do to anyone who is not one of them. If they do he can wear that along with his other medals of honor, because it should be obvious by now that they only attack people who are really Good for America.

I doubt any one person can unify the U.S. right now.. The only way it seems possible to me is to wait until the next president comes in, if he/she does an outstanding job.. in six years or so we will probably be more unified. We'll always have two sides though..

I think it would be cool to have a great leader. Someone like Kennedy was seen as before he was assassinated. Someone a lot of people might look up to and respect. I think Colin Powell would make a great leader, as far as I can tell. Someone who respects other beliefs, races, cultures, etc..

we the people of the united states..... sorry i just couldn't help but think that no hero can save us, only we ourselfs can save us. we must change our minds to deside to stand up and demand what we want, not just being happy with the way your life is. we must be worried about all of our futures. remember my generation will be the next in line, if we don't find a way to change our minds now, i fear the next generation may not have a chance.

I have asked my self this question many times, and one thought keeps coming to mind , when our famous Generals Gen Patton and Gen MacArthur made the statement after WW2 that we would curse the day we fought Germany??? did they know something then, that we don't know now? and what exactly did they have in mind when they made those statements?

Someone that would "trim the fat" from the government, be daring enough to tackle the hard issues (healthcare, energy, national security, immigration, etc.), and be accessible to the people, for he would be our "representative". Unfortunately, someone like that would probably get assassinated.
