Ie are they stronger than hydrogen and ionic bonds and require more energy to be broken?

Well, outside of the peptide bond itself (I know you were probably referring to the side chains of the amino acids), yes, they are probably the strongest attraction between amino acids. They are not stronger than ionic bonds though, but there are no ionic bonds in amino acids. Yes, ions are attracted to each other, but thats just a result of charge-charge interactions, not an actual ionic bond.
