Pressure....100 psi although doesn't it reach a limit where additional pressure does not result in additional flow?

Okay...hows this. I want to piss off my girlfriend by drenching her cat. I have a 1/2" copper pipe in the basement at cat level and I am sure I can lure the beast in front of it with a chicken leg. How many gallons per minute is the most I can hope to blast the little monster with?

Sorry dude no simple answer you need to know the pressure it can take so you need the wall thickness or "Schedule".

I think the American codes are in ANSI might be online somewhere check it out probably the calcs needed too.

You see all you have is a cross sectional area you need to know the flow velocity. To complete the calculation.

Well my guess is that you won't be able get the cat too wet because it is going to jump and run away from the spraying water. So you are just going to make a mess for nothing.

I agree with Warren. You can't calculate it without the missing variable: pressure. Sorry.
