While I was in new york my cousin put music on my Ipod but i think he used nano software. And I have a whole crap load of songs and videos that he put on ipod that I don't want to lose. How can I fix this problem without losing all my music and videos.

The nano and video use the same software, so that isn't the problem. If you have the music on the iPod, you can't transfer it to your computer through iTunes. You need to either get a software program like Tune Transfer, or go through a more complicated, but free, process. Check the website below for instructions.

However, when he put that music on your iPod, it was stealing. Buy your own music.
