Something a bit sci-fi, but still quite possible with great advances of technology.

What do you think?

There is already talk of striving for that possibility. If you were to teleport back a hundred years ago, and say that we would travel to the moon in the future, be able to talk to another person half way around the world, and travel hundreds of km/miles an hour... they would laugh. However Sci-fi has the potential to become Sci-fact.

moral length, nicely would you enable someone you want to run on a Microsoft operating equipment and committing suicide by using dividing by using 0. If as some scientists imagine there's a quantum element in concept and knowledge, only downloading gained't do the pastime. you'll have the concepts that construct the identity, notwithstanding the ghost will be lacking from the gadget.

Still a long way off, but I think it will happen.

Don't think it's a good thing. We can't even keep small things private on line now days. Nothing but bad can happen when big bro government or big bro corporation or little bro hacker gets a hold of what makes us what we are.

Identity theft? That'll be small potatoes.

No. You will not have a conscience to speak of. I will not exist, only we. You will only have a concept of what is good for the group. There may be a group conscience to speak of, but nothing more. This is the perilous outcome of a world hurtling towards socialism.

God I hope not! I like keeping my thoughts to myself! Besides...what kind of immense hard drive would we need.....we think at the rate of 0.000000001 thought a millisecond!

Plus...how would we be able to prtoect it from threats? Also, if we wanted to upload it again, would we? Would you want to walk around with an empty head? Ugh! lol

I think that it would be cool, but I am not so sure that it is in our upcoming future, possibly and the very distant future if even then.

would be terribly handy wouldn't it? But i think there is a biological, and therefore unpredictable, component that will prevent downloading of actual consciousness, not just intelligence, into a computer. hmmmmmm
