They say to just stop what your're doing, and just try to relax , breathe in deep and slow ,, for a while,,

I would personally consult my doctor they do have anti anxitey medication's that work wonders,, you can function again , don't even have to worry about another one coming on..

I know how you feel. I've been there and done that many times. First of all you have to go to a doctor and seek treatment. The doc will probably put you on an SSRI antidepressant. I've been on just about all of them at one time or other. The best one for my panic attacks was Paxil. But like a dumb *** I took myself off of it after a time for whatever stupid reason I don't remember. But Paxil is a good one for panic attacks. Your doctor may also want to put you on a benzodiazephine tranquilizer, antianxiety medication, such as Ativan, Valium, or Xanax. I've also been on them all at one time or another and am currently taking Xanax XR. But these last are all schedule IV controlled substances and are physically addictive. good luck.

as far a prescription medications go, diazepam or alprazolam would be your best bets, or possibly a beta blocker such as propranolol, but I would be cautious with that if you have other breathing difficulties. Over the counter, there is not much you can do other than avoiding the situation or avoiding caffeine intake.

If you have not all ready done so, stop caffeinated beverages. These include coffee,tea,cola,Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc.
They can contribute to the anxiety attacks.
Avoid situations which you notice are associated with an attack.
