I use a wood cleaner that Pledge puts out. Make sure that it says cleaner not polish. Mix according to directions in a spray bottle. Mist a small area of the floor, take a microfiber mop and wipe the floor going with the grain. This cleans better than anything else that I have tried, and makes the room smell good as well. Can also use this cleaner on almost anything.
this is the cleaner I am talking about, there are other places to purchase it, this is just to show you the right cleanser.

One gallon will make enough cleaner to probably last you well over a year. We have a commercial cleaning service and we use this product all the time. This is the fastest way to clean a wood floor with out leaving streaks, making it slippery or leaving buildup.

Mop the hard wood floors with a small amount of kero in a bucket of warm water. My Nana used to mop her floors this way.

Go for the Murphy's wood soap. It is safe to use, smells great, and won't damage your floor.

Use Banana Oil - its the best. Don't use too much or you will have a skating rink! One container will last years and it doesn't have nasty buildup like some waxes and polishes do. Buy it at your local janitor's supply center.

MURPHY'S OIL SOAP-THAT'S WHAT I USE--THEY ALSO MAKE A SQUIRT AND MOP KIND TOO--I USE BOTH-THE REGULAR FIRST ESP. IF THE FLOORS ARE REALLY DIRTY, LIKE AFTER WINTER IS OVER-THEN THE SQUIRT AND MOP FOR THE "SHINE" FACTOR.
