If his numbers continue the way they are probably should be in the Hall. I know he is a head case and is more disruptive to a team than he may be worth. Interesting that every time Boston wants to deal him (with after big years ) there are no takers. He is part of an era that are "me" players as opposed to team players.

If Manny retired right now because he was tired of the game, and wanted a break. He wouldn't make it in the Hall, if he was to get spiked and had to end his career (like John McGraw), he might be in the Hall, if he continues his career putting up the great numbers he has been, he is no doubt a Hall of Famer. He hits the longball constantly, and posts an OK average (.314 career), drives in a lot of runs, and he gets extra base hits (438 doubles). The one downside is he doesn't get a lot of hits, his career average is 185 a year, which looks good but he usually hits 150-180 a year. Writers will also not like the so-called "Manny Being Manny", sometimes when he screws around his team loses, he needs to go out and give 100% everyday.

Sure he deserves to be in Cooperstown. Everybody knows that he hasn't the best behavior as a person, but he's one of the best hitters ever in the majors, and that's why Cooperstown exists, to have the best players ever with a shelf in the Hall. They don't care his behavior as far as it doesn't affect the moral and ethics of the Major League Baseball. So the answer is Yes, he deserves it.

I hope he spends the rest of his career in left field in fenway and goes to Cooperstown wearing a Red Sox uniform. I don't care how many bathroom breaks he takes in the left field wall.

His bat alone is one of the greatest weapons ever.

Manny Ramirez, although he may be a bit of a jerk, is an amazing player. How can you keep a .314 470 homer 1516 RBI guy out of the hall? (espcially because he is probably not juiced).

absolutely. positively. http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/ramirma02.shtml

his hall of fame monitor is 182. .314 carreer hitter with 470 hrs and 1516 rbis at age 34. One of the greatest right handed hitters of all time ---- possibly the greatest (Dimaggio and Piazza are two other greats, but most great power hitters were lefthanded)

Of course. He is one of only a few players to win the batting title, homers and Rbi's in his carreer. He is going to hit more than 500 easily. .314 isnt an "ok" average. it is a great average. and anyone who disagrees is dumb. he has a better average and more homers than Cal Ripken Jr, and 97% of the voters for the HOF voted for him.

Easily, he's one of the best right handed hitters to ever play the game and a clutch performer. His aloof attitude denies him the recognition he deserves, but I think he's does it on purpose to keep it real.
