Why isn't it considered illegal and immoral to spank girls?

Question

Ever since we moved down here to Hicksville, TX where everyone is like "any child who messes up should have their butt whipped", they spank a lot, at school, I see adults doing it to kids at Walmart even, several of my friends at their homes, and now these hicks brainwashed my dad so it's even to me (my mom passed away a few years ago).

Why do they do this to girls, especially teenage girls? This is so wrong. What about my reproductive organs, suppose they get damaged? Also, why should any adult be allowed to touch my butt without my permission? this is very embarrassing for us.

I know my dad would never hurt me, but the principal of my school has done this and so has the vice principal and my friend's mom and none of them love me. I think they are taking advantage of me because I am small and I wear form fitting jeans and I think my principal who knows maybe he likes to do this to teenage girls.

I am disturbed how many adults here in Yahoo think this is OK. It's not OK.

How old are you?? I think a good old fashion spanking can very productive in child rearing, depending on the situation.

FYI hon., if your reproductive organs get damaged, you have been abused. Every state defines abuse differently, however most define it as a "permanent" mark meaning a bruise, welt, blister.... other then a temporary red bottom which goes away with in a hour or so. I do totally agree with you about who spanks you. You said it (you seem very smart) your friends mom, or principal don't love you, so if I were your mom, I would NOT allow them to spank you. When a spanking leads to abuse, (like you said) its usually a person who doesn't have that loving attachment necessary for the job (ex. step parents, baby sitters, principals...) I too, wish those people would reframe from spanking. Your father is another story, I would really try and pay attention so you receive less of them. Just remember, no matter how big, bad, and tough you dad is, your still his little girl, his pride and joy. The last thing he wants to do is hurt you, he is doing the best he can, spanking brings him no joy, I can assure you of that.

I have 3 girls, ages 4, 7, and 10. All of which get spankings from time to time. Everyone raises their children differently, but I hoped to stop spanking somewhere around 12, that's not to say I I will, just that "it's the plan" who knows if I am right, we all do the very best we can, and all love our children.

Call the school board of your county and ask what the guidelines are for paddling in your grade. Regardless of whether they agree if it's wrong or not, call whatever state department that passes for Child Protective Services in Texas and make a full report. Describe exactly what has been done to you, but don't fill the report with the reasons why. Just give the details of each spanking/paddling/whipping that you've received. Between those actions, you should find someone who will listen to you. If not, then either tough it out until you're 18 and can move out, or just runaway (which I wouldn't normally suggest, but you sound like you might be thinking of it anyway).

On the other side, I agree that you're acting like a spoiled brat, but, at your age especially, spanking isn't the answer and will only result in anger on your part. If your father and teachers don't see that, then they're either uneducated, or simply don't care about you.

Sweetheart, I am a much older person that you, however, raising childern that are now much older than you I know that this is a delicate subject. I am from the belief that " spare the rod, spoil the child ". However, in your case, you are of the age that spanking is not for just anyone. Your father for one should stop the spanking and try to use more discretion to the intellect and find better ways for punishing. I never had to spank any of my kids ( 3 ), however I did find reason to take away privledges that they had or took for granted. My kids all grew up to be teachers and one is a doctor in Washington. So they turned out fine.
As for the teachers or principals, IT SHOULD BE HANDS OFF. !! They should never be touching you in any way let alone that which is private parts. So do indeed get the police involved. This needs to stop now. If they do not fix the situation then take it to the news media. That will fix them all. This needs to be stopped now. Unless your community is involved in corporal punisment of kids, which I find very hard to believe, especially now adays, then you will find the media a great bastion of help. But go to the police first. They will know what to do.

i think a gentle spank for younger children is appropriate but not for pre teens and teenagers. that is just wrong and can also be perverted because you are developed where a child is not i would say next time the principle or vp tries to spank you get out of way and say loudly that they are abusing you and that this is illegal because they are city employees and should protect you from harm not cause it. you might want to call the police and or go to the media that may help it stop.

Ok first being spanked doesn't damage your reproductive organs. Second they just seem to be different where you live so you could just deal with it and leave as soon as your eighteen. Third if you have a problem with it then call the cops. Fourth it's illegal for a child to be spanked by their parent or anyone.

i was spanked when i was little. but not after i turned 10, never, i was grounded or disiplined in other ways instead. i dont think it is right for them to do that if ur a teenager. and as a little kid, it shouldnt be a hard spank. i think a pat on the bottom should be enough. if its not, the child has some issues that spanking isnt going to help. but the only way it can be illegal is if they leave bruises on you, then go to human services and tell them. thats called abuse. and if it seems sexually by anyone tell them about that. i really doubt the school is allowed to spank or smack the kids though. u should talk to the school board about that. its definetly not okay

First off, call the school administration to find out if there in your town are teachers allowed to spank you for getting in trouble; because, i thought that was outlawed, well at least at the schools i went to, plus, isn't like you goto a catholic school; where you get slapped on the hand with a ruler but that is old school too!

that seems very wrong you should flipo out and pot6entially file for sexuall harassment if it is that innapropriate. but obviously not if its in a joking manor where it is considered "acceptable". even though it really shouldent be.i think if you feel threatened or abused file a report but if its just someone goofing with you like your dad, then maybe not.

ps. i actually live in the real hicksville .. there is actually a town called that in new york.

Its only illegal depending on the brutallity, not just for girls. But it depends. But teachers can't hit students. But Texas....you never know, there laws are usually different from everyone else. Ex. they still hang people.

I think it is wrong. Teenage girls need to be empowered and not belittled by spankings - and you are right, schools can be a hot bed for perverts. I would consider calling the police station and anonymously asking them what they think. I would tell them that you think someone is taking advantage of the town custom and is getting fresh with you.
