It depends on how long it was since you last smoked. Drug tests are made deliberately so very small levels of THC (delta tetrahydrochloride-9, the chemical in marijuana that gets you high and whose level is tested for in drug screens) that could be explained by simply "being around people that smoke" don't trigger a false positive. Since this question is in the sports section, I am guessing that you are an athelete, which would mean you have a high metabolism. THC bonds with fat, and therefore, the more fat you have in your body, the longer it is going to be there. In my personal experience, if you don't smoke very often, you will be clean in a matter of a day or two. Also, drinking a lot of water helps to flush out your system.

Why would you smoke it if you don't want to get high? There is no true answer to your question, but if you only took one hit, it is probaly enough to register on a drug test if the test was soon enough after you smoked.

Sure. If you ever followed Olympic Games, it already happened to a Canadian athlete (running). He claimed he had only go to a place where people smoked it but tested positive.
Finally, they didn't take his gold medal away from him, but still, he tested positive even if he hadn't even smoke any.

believe it or not you can test positive for it even if you don't smoke but in the same enclosed area as those that are smoking
