Nope, it can't...BUT it will me impossible towards the end of your pregnancy. I am a stomach sleeper, so this really killed me when I was pregnant. If you're a stomach sleeper as well, try buying a body pillow and snuggling up with it while you're on your side. I found that pretty comfortable, and I was able to get much better sleep that way. You need all the sleep that you can get before your little one comes along!

No, you will flip over if your baby is uncomfortable as your baby can signal your brain by releasing certain hormones.
There is also a special mattress for pregnant women who sleep on their bellies that has an adjustable belly hole. I never seem to be able to find the link anymore, but it exists!

Your display of flippancy is concerning. Another question about beliefs and the possible effects of them on unborn children... Do you have any children, or, are you pregnant? How would you like it if someone turned the question around and asked you the same thing with the same narrow minded conviction? Whatever has made you so begrudging I hope you can at least find peace with it. Negativity has a bad effect on a child- regardless of belief.

not during the first few months..... and in later months u won't be able to, even if u want to !!! i speak from experience.., i still managed to sleep on my front until i was about 3 or 4 months pregnant... then it started to get really uncomfortable, and i had to start sleeping on my side. i think what's more dangerous is sleeping on your back during the later stages of pregnancy..... i believe it can put pressure on the baby & cause problems with your blood pressure.... if u have any doubts or questions, u should speak to your midwife. at least that way u will get the advice of a professional

With all my children I slept on my stomach at times. As the bump got bigger I slept in something like the recovery position with a pillow under my upper leg. This was amazingly comfortable as it prevented the baby from pressing on my spine during the night.

You are obviously quite small at the moment becasue as soon as the baby starts to get bigger it will become uncomfortable, baby will be fine though.
I always slept on my tummy before being pregnant and once I couldn't any more I used to struggle getting comfy. Then someone told me to put a pillow under my bump and one between my knees. I didn't think it would work but it really does. The only objection was off my husband because he was constantly getting less and less room.( aah poor him!!!)

Once you get quite big, you won't feel comfortable sleeping on your tummy anyway. Until then, it is fine. You will naturally roll over when you are asleep to find a comfortable position. At the ante-natal classes, they recommend you to sleep on your side with your knees up, and a pillow between them.

No, it will not harm the child because that amniotic sac is what keeps the child protected. You just won't be able to belly sleep as you progress with the pregnanct-laws of gravity! ok?

I would roll over to my stomach while I was pregnant while I was sleeping, and when I started getting bigger, I stopped all on my own. I think your body knows when you can't do it anymore. But if you can control it, I probably wouldn't. I don't think it can hurt it, but what do I know? I just know I quit doing it all on my own.
