They don't sleep in the sense that other animals sleep but they do have periods of rest where they barely move through the water. A fishes body has to keep moving to keep water flwoing through the gills to breathe so they move slightly during their rest period.

Well, I would assume based on Organized Crime terminology that if a "Hit" is capable of "Sleeping with the fishes" then the fish themselves would be participating in the sleeping.

different fish sleep differently. i have goldfish that stay swimming and wiggling but do it differently then when they are awake -- some fish look like they go into cruise control and just kind of drift. bettas have a tendency to rest on plants and the bottom so they sleep more like we do than any other fish.

Of course they do. Most average 4 hours per 24. They hang in one spot in the water. Each sleep doesn't last very long.

They sure do! While they do not have eyelids, they sleep and even yawn like we do. Before feeding your fish in the mornings, make sure their light has been on 10-15 minutes for proper waking-up time!

eas, but they can't close their eyes cause they have no lids. When the light is off they will be on the bottom sleeping, still swimming but stationary near the bottom.
