Mickey Mantle hit one out of Yankee Stadium, the ball traveled about 500 feet in the air on the fly. A Yankees publicist claimed that the ball traveled 565 feet in the air, there is no solid evidence to support it. Babe Ruth also hit one out down the right field line, in the 1920's when it was only 295 feet down the line, with just a fence with no seats behind it, so it didn't travel that far!! That is the only two records I could find on balls hit out of Yankees Stadium.
It is said that Josh Gibson hit one out of Yankee, that was estimated between 575 and 700 feet but there is no solid evidence on that!!
So go with Josh Gibson, but not as the only person to do it.

According to a ***** leagues legend, Josh Gibson hit a home run out of Yankee Stadium. While there is no official record of anyone ever hitting the ball out of Yankee Stadium, legend has it Gibson did. Here are a couple of pages to look at which break down the legend.
This was also copied and pasted from http://www.pace.edu/library/pages/links/ondisplay/joshessay.htm
"Robert Peterson also quotes Jack Marshall, of the Chicago American Giants, as stating that he witnessed Gibson hit a ball that went out of Yankee stadium, which would be the only fair ball ever hit out of that ballpark."
It's all heresay but it Gibson was without a doubt one of the best power hitters ever.

Hopefully, no one collects stats based on race though I am sure that black fans probably do that. I think Mickey Mantle hit one out of Yankee Stadium, like 555 feet or something. I remember that when I was a little kid and the Yankees were playing the Pirates in the 1960 World Series. Jackie Robinson played in the National League and would have to have done it in a World Series if he did it. The Yankees have had some great black sluggers like Winfield and Reggie Jackson, maybe it was one of them. I will watch this question to see if anyone knows. good luck

I'm betting both would hurt, but I would think being hit by a baseball would be a billion times worse than being hit by a tennis ball (or is just getting hit "there" the same as anything?). I've been hit by a bat and a softball (still have the scar), and it doesn't feel good... *Edit: *facepalms* I misread your question. I think baseball players hit balls harder... Tennis players sure do scream/holler a lot though... ;)

I'm not sure whether it is still there or not, but there used to be a fence at the top of Yankee stadium. Mickey Mantle once hit that fence but that's the closest anyone has ever come.

She's right: no one has ever done this.
I believe that the closest black player to do so was Josh Gibson (who did this during an exhibition game since he never got a chance in the majors).
