attempt to breastfeed him once an hour during the day, and as often as he wakes at night (you can also wake him/her every 2 hours at night). Pump if you are unable to feed him, or if the baby gets so frustrated you give him/her a bottle. Call a lactation consultant as well, and make sure the baby is latching correctly.

You need to feed more often or for longer periods of time. Generally for newborns, 5 mins on each side to begin with. The more you use the more you will produce. If your son is not going up in the feeding demands then you need to make sure he is not losing weight, babies should keep progressing toward eating more not less. If he is eating well and your body is just not producing enough try pumping some. Also, drink plenty of water...you may be dehydrated!

I have a friend that sells some kind of herbal pills that help produce breast milk. The reason she got into doing that was because she had the same problem you were describing and found these on line. You may want to google search for something that helps produces breast milk. She swears by it!

It's tough, but you need to nurse more often. Your milk supply will change every 24 hours, so if you nurse a lot in a 24 hour period, you will start to produce more. Just be sure to keep nursing frequently. You will only produce what your baby will drink.

Don't supplement,
breastfeed around the clock, every two hours, for 24-48 hours,
eat oatmeal everyday (WORKED FOR ME!!!),
Stay comfortable,
Stay hydrated,
Stay well-fed,
DO NOT STRESS ABOUT IT!!! most important of all... Just smile at your baby while he eats, look at him lovingly, sing too him, talk to him gently, tell him how he's eating so good, what a good boy he is, it will calm you down, and the stress will melt away and let your body do what it needs to do.

Also skin-to-skin contact.

I sleep with my baby as well, I think this helps. I wake up for his mid-eve feedings and the bed is usally pretty damp... This is after one week of doing the above suggestions, before he was ALWAYS hungry, cranky and sad, now he's content and full always. :)

I don't like to use pumps, they hurt me. I hand express one ounce every other day, to help keep things up and going. Just freeze it though, don't feed it to him now... That way you take an ounce away, and he makes your body say !! QUICK!! REPLACE IT, MAKE MORE!!

I'm pretty sure this might help you.

How old is this baby? Is this baby eating solids and is not hungry and not nursing often? The answer to increasing your supply is to do nothing BUT nurse. you can take a nursing vacation with a young baby and basically go to bed...drink lots, eat lots....nurse lots...and dont do anything else...dont cook dinner, dont do the laundry, dont go to the store....just rest and relax and nurse and let baby nurse as long as he wants to. After about a weekend of that - production should be up. If not, the herb Fenugreek (you can make tea with it) should also boost production.

the only way to produce more id to nurse more and pump between nursing. It can be very time consuming, and you may feel like a vending machine, but itis well worth it, once you get caught back up to where you and your baby need you to be.

Usually, you produce just the right amount that your baby needs. The more he suckles, the more you produce. Check it out with your doctors office. I breastfed my daughter and sometimes I had more than other times. Good luck! please check out the link below.
