You did exactly the right thing. There is no reason to stay with someone like this nowadays. You can contact your states legal aid assoc for free legal help and/or one of the womans help groups in your area if you want it, because its very important to divorce him quickly and get him out of your life before something major happens because of him and youre dragged into it. But yes you did the right thing and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Good luck to your future

You did exactly the right thing! No woman should stay with an abusive mate. I am proud that you're getting your education so you can have a better life. You wouldn't have had much of a life with a cheater and a jailbird. Now the sky is the limit. I think you should forgive him so you can move on more quickly. You don't have to like what he did; you both know he was wrong, but you'll heal faster once you're past thinking how angry and hurt you are for what he did. He's not worth any more of your time, energy or love. Take good care of yourself and good luck!

Good for you! You definately did the right thing getting out of an abusive relationship. You can now concentrate on making your life better and hopefully making better relationship choices in future. The hurt will heal in time and you will move on. Good luck.

You did the right thing. You need to look after yourself. Glad to hear that you are starting to move on, most women are afraid to. What he did to you was unexceptable and I am glad to hear that you left an abusive relationship.
It will be tough, but you seem to be a tough woman, keep looking out for yourself and things will get better in time.

Good luck to you, you have my prayers.

You need to stay out of that relationship and not go back to it... You also need to get counseling and help for you to start to get past this.... You really need to move on with your life and are you divorced yet? If not you need to divorce him.

Your doing exactly what you should be doing and probably should have done a long time ago. He didn't mind hurting you and his work and attitude problems he deserves everything he got and more.
