To work out a ratio you devide the ratios together and times it by the mesurement.

In your example you have a ratio of 5:4 ghl to jkl

5/4*60 = 75 cm

as you are going from the smaller (4) to the larger (5)

if you wanted to scale the mesurement from jkl to ghl it would be

4/5*60 = 48cm

this is just a short hand way of saying;

60/4 = 15 * 5 = 75

60 is your original mesurement
60/4 works out what the mesurement is at this ratio
15*5 works out what the mesurement would be scaled up.

Let

p1 = perimeter of Δghi
p2 = perimeter of Δjkl

Given

p1/p2 = 5/4
p2 = 60 cm

Find p1

p1/p2 = 5/4
p1 = (5/4)p2 = (5/4)(60) = 75 cm

72 cm because 60 / 5 gives you 12 so you add 12 to your 60 cm giving you 72 because of the ratio..

First, you need to type better.

I think the ratio of the perimeters is the same as the ratio of the sides. So
5/4=x/60
4x=300
x=75
The perimeter is 75 cm.
I think????????
