Yes, it is worrying.I suggest everyone gets on to their MP about this straight away. What's that? can't be bothered i here them say? I doubt less than 1% of 1% of the UK populace have even met their MP let alone will go and complain. It is apathy that will doom us.
What all governments really wants is a central DNA database, which the US and UK governments are already in the process of compiling on everyone.Couple that with biometric scanning of fingerprints, retinas, earlobe patterns(i'm not joking), body heat patterns and facial recognition software, it will mean that you will be tracked and followed everywhere you go via CCTV; through traffic portals such as airports and train stations.Soon all money will be electronic, and every purchase traced logged and of course taxed.Worse they will probably sell the information for commercial marketing at some point too.

It is happening as we speak, its just not 100% effective.Yet.
The governments say it is to keep law and order or to prevent terrorism, but any idiot can see that an unarmed and controlled populace, where every move they make is recorded and catalogued is the way to maintain absolute power and authority.
It just takes a slight change in policy or political direction to turn from a security concerned benign government to a ruthless dictatorship. Forget the commies or the facists seizing power,it will be you who will vote the buggers in!

I'm not really scared. I've not got anything to hide (I know - I sound really dull). I don't mind them having my name, address, tel numbers, etc etc. They can even have my fingerprints and issue me an ID card - but they can whistle if they think I'm going to pay for it.
