Problem will be either with your telephone connection or with the setup of the router.

Telephone connection:
Try disconnecting all the phones in your house an plug the router directly into the main BT socket (don't forget the Microfilters) if this works then plug each phone back in each extension until it fails again. This will help illiminate trouble spots. If you can get your router working here it will prove that your equipment is working at least in one place.

Router configuration:
Most connection problems are down to using the correct username and password. Router factory defaults are usually ok to use straight out of the box. Did your ISP pre-configure your router? Most ISP's will help you configure your router, call their helpdesk if they have one. Did you get a manual with your router? I advise you should read it. Most router config pages can be accessed by typing it's IP address in you internet browser (Internet Explorer) usually it's 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
It will ask you for a username and password, sometimes username is 'admin' and the password will either be 'password' or will be blank (no password).

Check with the letter/email you got from your ISP as to what your username and password is and what your router settings should be.

Good luck!

More info here would be helpful:
Is your line activated?
Who is your ISP?
Have you used your telephone line for broadband before?
Can you use your broadband line with a single PC ADSL modem?

If its not a problem with the router then it may be a problem with the internet, check that it is set up correctly. It takes a couple of weeks usually for an Internet Service Provider to connect you, so if you have only recently bought your connection it may not be online yet.

Otherwise perhaps try playing with your firewall settings.

BT Broadband (nightmare),
Have they told you the connection is active ?
Which router is it ?
Have you input the username and password for the ADSL connection ?
Have you DHCP enabled on the router ?

Sounds like a DNS server error.

Disable DHCP in your router and assign a static IP address to one of your PC's - 192.168.xxx.011 is fine, x being dependant on your network but 1 or zero is normal. Make sure your gateway and DNS server are the address of your router.

If this works then use a different last digit for the IP addresses for each of your PC's.

Have you setup your router to access your internet connection. You have a DSL Internet connection, so you would have to setup your router for PPPOE connection and place your username and password in the router setup.
