Before you decide what you should do next, you need to figure out what it is you enjoy doing. If you like the business and management aspect of working, then an MBA may be a great route to go. If you like your current role and are just concerned about next steps, please realize that you can grow your career without continuing your education. Please realize I'm not encouraging you to not go to school - that is always a great move! You can never go wrong going to school. My point is, don't always assume school is the only way to move up the ladder - you can continue to grow your career in your current role.

For example, maybe all you need to do is step up your game in your current role. Ask for projects that expand the scope of your current role. Your management team may not even know that you want to grow your role. Start by notifying them that you are interested in doing more. First:
- ask to meet with your boss and set up the discussion as a conversation around career development
- explain you want to move your career forward, and that means you would like to do ________ (fill in the blank)
- outline what you think it may take to get there, but also get your manager's input
- then work with your manager to outline a plan of attack and how long it will take to get there

While doing so, make sure to:
- take training courses that will help you move upward (or study for your MBA)
- take projects that have lots of visibility to upward management so you can show them you're serious and you can show them your skills
- be AGGRESSIVE (without being a jerk) - explain what you want and go for it

Sometimes all it takes is asking, and opportunities will appear!!

Good luck!!
