They would normally give you the option to make the payment by another way..ie send a cheque every month...If you ignored this and payments were missed, then they could bill you for the entire total remaining...If you ignored that, they are within their rights to take you to court where you would be liable for their court costs.
Remember...contracts are legal and binding!

Well what do you think will happen ?
Do you think the nice people who sold you the Contract will say "that's OK, we didn't really want your money anyway !" ?
Or do you think they will take some action to get the money out of you ??? - for example, if this is a Mobile Phone Contract do you think they might cut you off and send the nice guys with the Rottweilers to collect your phone ??? and maybe they might make sure you never get another Phone Contract as long as you live ??
Go on, have a guess ....

You are then liable for the other twelve months. so if your contract was £20 a month you would owe a minimum of £240 as they could charge extra for cancellation. Check your contract

Phoning them (get a contact call) and following this up with a letter way that you've were given were given fulfilled your component to the settlement, you'll likely favor to cancel any DD after this date.

you will be billed as normal for the monthly fee, after a couple of months the service would be suspended, you would receive reminder letters, final letter, then the debt would be passed to a collection agency, no repsonse after this then they would go through county court, which can lead to bailiffs, and will have an affect on your credit rating
