Any opinion from tampon users?

From an ex-tampon user, no tampons are not really effective to stop leaks, not in comparrison to other options.

Tampons can only be worn for 4-6 hours at a time and within that time if they get full then they leak without constraint, length-ways expanding tampons can also leak more than widthways-expanding tampons as the blood can flow down the sides through any vaginal fluid that is not absorbed by the tampon. It also depends on what type of tampon you are talking about, commercial and organic tampons are pretty much the same, sponge tampons, cloth tampons and soft tampons I couldn't comment on but they may well be less or more likely to leak than commercial or organic tampons.

Menstrual cups are the best way to avoid leaking, bell-shaped cups create a seal with the walls of the vagina to prevent leaking and they also hold a lot more blood so they can be left in for up to 12 hours without leaking and because of the seal created by the cup when it is full only a small amount of blood will come out giving you more than enough time to empty the cup before it becomes a problem. Softcups are more prone to leaking because they sit next to the cervix and if they are too big for the woman wearing them they do leak.

I have very heavy periods, with tampons I would leak within the hour and it would result in a lot of blood soaking through my clothing, with a menstrual cup I can go six hours before any leaking and then it is only a little pink discharge so not a big deal - menstrual cups are also a lot cleaner, environmentally friendly, cheaper, more convenient, more comfortable and safer than tampons.

A tampon can be effective to stop leaks, if you change it regularly. It is definitely more comfortable than a pad. Pads almost make you feel like you're wearing a wet diaper. It is always safe to wear a panty-liner when using a tampon, though, just in case you need to change your tampon and there isn't a bathroom nearby or you cant leave to go change it. That way you don't ruin your underwear.

once i started using i couldn't ..or can't stop! yep, it feels so much cleaner/comfortable/better than using pads & having to have to sit that out. Try it couple times.. just make sure u know how. It's not that difficult after u try. Just look at the paper that comes in the box with'em. Follow it exactly & relax..while doin so.

oh yeah, u might want to wear a small, tiny pad just in case. U won't even feel like u have ur period. Better to be safe. If u use the bigger size tampons than u prbly won't have to wear the lil pad with. But if ur gona wear the smaller type, it's better if u do. Wear tampons if u want to forget about ur period for few hours instead of feeling like ur wearing a diaper:/

I used to have that issue too. i'm too shy to alter my pad as oftentimes because it needs changing. Plus, i'm rather athletic and pads are purely a discomfort. So tampons have been rather handy. they are uncomfortable in the commencing up, yet you get the cling of it. merely confirm you insert the tampon each of how in. If not, it hurts like no different. For the leaking, I oftentimes use a skinny pad. like the small ones that are used for lighter days? Yeah. i exploit those for the days that i be responsive to incorporate heavy. yet different than that, tampons can postpone. and that they are speedier to alter.

they sure do! it's the greatest thing since sliced bread! i really hate pads. But if your flow is heavy then make sure you use Super or Super Plus tampons. And make sure you change them like every 4 hours. You may want to use a pantyliner, small pad or paper towel just in case.

Yes...but sometimes I have to wear a combination of a super size tampon and a pad.

I use tampons and I've never had a leak. I love them so much better then pads. They are so much more comfortable.

As long as you flow isn't super heavy with clots. When I was younger tampons were great, as I got older my periods got heavier and they didn't seem to work as well.
