I am on the patch and have been for over six months. My fiance & I however, are unsure about him ejaculating inside of me. He has never done it before and we have been contemplating it recently. If I am on the patch (no chance of missing a pill & being ineffective) can he ejaculate inside of me?
I know there are always "possibilities" however, I am being more realistic. Is this okay to do while on birth control?

I know it is a possiblity to get pregnant while on birth control but if I allow him to once in a while is it okay? It wouldn't be done every time, but a couple. Is it okay then?

No birth control is 100%

The patch is I believe about 99% effective and so yes it would be fine for him to ejaculate inside however with any sex there is always risk. The risk while on the patch is very small though.

Frequency does not mater mathematically it does not increase or decrease the possibility. He could do it every day or once a year and you would have exactly the same chance.

You could get pregnant the one time during the whole year or do it every day and never have a problem. In either case you still only have a 1% chance of it happening.

It is still possible, if you would like to let him ejaculate inside of you once in awhile then try charting your basal body temp. You will be able to find out alot more online but if you do that then you should be safe after your temp goes up every month. So you would basically be using condoms or some other birth control part of the month in addition to the patch and only using the patch the rest of the month. No matter what you do there is a chance of getting pregnant, but doubling up on birth control always helps. If you are willing to deal with the chance you might get pregnant (there is probably a 90 something % chance you won't) then just use the patch. It is meant to be used by itself so it is only possible, not likely that you will get pregnant while on it.

There's a myth going around that if your boyfriend doesn't ejaculate in you can't get pregnant- but the truth is that some semen (and sperm) come out before ejaculation even occurs. Trust me- I have an 8 yo daughter due to this myth.
So the best way to prevent pregnancy is to have a back up- Like the others said- a spermicide or something to be extra sure that you wont get pregnant.

.I know of at least three people that have gotten pregnant on the patch and/or pill. Don't risk it. One of the women I know..her mother was told that she should abort her baby b/c it was going to be a 'monster' with all sorts of deformities. Well, the mother didn't listen to her doctor and thank God b/c the woman is one of my close friends. Yes, that happened a long time ago but I have had friends in recent years get pregnant while using birth control

Another thing, learn to know when you are ovulating and don't let him do it anywhere near that time. There is usually a clear tacky -like substance that your body releases.

You should be okay if he does it every once in a while. I got pregnant while on birth control, but my boyfriend always ejaculates inside of me, so I guess our chances were a lot higher then yours. Just be careful :)

No method is a 100% sure. If I were you, I wouldn't let him do it, at the end he's going to ejaculate with, without you, inside or outside... I would take better care of myself.

Don't fool yourself.

If you are worried about getting pregnant don't let him do it. If you don't care that much, the who cares.

You have the answer to your own question you just don't like it. You don't need to permission of the people here to do it. You just want to alleviate the responsibility from yourself. You figure at the back of your mind, "Hey the people at Yahoo said it was OK, right?"

Be smart and act responsibility. If you don't want a baby, do everything you can to prevent it.

It is very rare but still a possibility to get pregnant while on birth control. If getting pregnant would be detrimental to you right now, you are wise to use a back up method. If he doesnt like it, tell him to masturbate instead.

nothing is 100% foolproof except for abstinence.

but you should be fine, my friend is on the patch, and she's never complained about this inconvenience. i say go for it, and if you're still nervous, follow up with a spermicide.
