I have been friends with this girl for over 7 years now and I have noticed more recently than anything that she trys to look better than me or trys to out do me. For example: I got engaged Christmas Day 2005. He bought me a really pretty and farely expensive engagement ring. When I showed her she told me she liked it but that it was too much. She asked how much it was and I told her $450 and she said that was too much to spend on a ring. I am now married and she is getting married this April. They recently went and got their wedding bands and she ended up spending $634 on her band and $54 on his wedding band. Me and my husband have talked about it and we both feel the same way. He has seen it on many more occassions as I have. I'm getting tired of it and need help.

Almost all women are like this. Which is why I don't have many girlfriends, lol. You just need to decide if her cattyness is worth the rest of what she offers as a friend. People aren't perfect. If you remain friends, just don't play her game. Call her out when need be and don't answer personal questions like how much your ring cost. If I were in the situation you describes, I probably would have said something like, "Wow, I never would have known your ring cost that much! It doesn't look like too much AT ALL."

Yeah I know exactly what your talking about! But look don't worry about it! It just shows that the girl is very immature! and insecure with her own self! she's more than likely jealous of you too! You really shouldn't stress over it! Just tell her how you feel and that your tired of the immature things she does! Good Luck

Women should never have to compete with other women it only shows insecurity within themselves-perhaps you should approach your friend and let her know how you feel---maybe she is not fully aware of her behavior---or if she is maybe her intentions are not what you think they are--good luck
