Some are good, some are bad. They all give jobs to people, this is good. Some harm the enviroment, this is bad. Some donate money to worthy causes, this is good. Corporations are like individuals. We all have good and bad points.

In the United States, thanks to Supreme Court decisions, a corporation has the legal status of an individual. It is merely a form of financial organization, subject to certain laws, that allows entrepreneurs and investors a structure within which to function effectively under the current laws.
A corporation can be mom and dad who run their bowling alley as a corporation. Or it can be Halliburton.
Perhaps you were not so interested in John's Pizza, Inc., and more interested in Halliburton, that is, you were asking about BIG corporations, not the idea of incorporation per se.
Well, the answer is that the corporation itself is neither good nor bad. It is merely a shell within which activities can take place. Some corporations behave in a socially destructive way, others in a constructive way, some in a mix of good and bad.
A more appropriate question would be whether corporations as a form of financial organization should be banned and replaced with some sort of large partnership arrangements, perhaps such as LLC's. I don't think there's much of an argument for that.
The real issue is regulating large financial organizations, even those owned privately by wealthy families. Do we need more regulation of the activities of the wealthy? If that's the question, the answer is yes and the reason can be stated simply: if we continue to send wealth to the wealthy and impoverish the poor and middle class, the economy will collapse. That's what happened in the Depression of the 1930's. The wealthy don't stay wealthy for long if they impoverish the millions of people who buy the products their companies make. We have a minimum wage. It's time to think about a maximum wage, too.

Corporations are human creations and they are thus reflections of their creators. They certainly have flaws and negatives about them, but I wouldn't use absolutes such as good or bad to describe their existence in general.
