Conservatives will not take responsibility for anything they do, and so will always blame others.

Many pundits considered the victory by the Dem's in the last election to be more a sucker play by the republicans than a true defeat.

Now the De ms have so many bad options (in fact all will probably be bad including 'staying the course' with Bush and thereby being lumped in with him).

Personally I hope both political parties take it big time for this because in reality both got us into it, and for the most part want to continue nation building despite the fact that is not what our country was founded on and a great majority of Americans truly feel is not our job on this earth. Why do we have the right to tell anyone else how to live in their own country.

We were not attacked because we are a great country. We were attacked because our ruling elite liked to meddle in affairs a hemisphere away and once they lit the fuses they can't figure out why things keep blowing up.

You just proved my point - many citizens of this country are blind, deaf or just don't care to look up a simply fact before shooting their mouths off. It isn't "Bush's war - as he never authorized a war - NO president can "......

US Constitution

Congress has the power to levy taxes, therefore, it will be Congress' fault...a.k.a. the liberals.

The damn liberal media, however, will continue to blame Bush for "his" war. Come on, people...it's not "Bush's" war, it's America's War. It's the War on Terror. It's a crusade for right and wrong. We need to step up and stand with our country even if you don't support its cause. How can the nation honestly expect to win this if over 50% of people don't support it! We need some support here, the President can't do it alone!

Of course they will. Last time a Dem was elected he had to balance the budget and fix the spiraling national debt Ronnie created. The next guy has to do the same, fix the mess that Dubya created. So they better give the electorate a good reason to keep them around despite higher taxes.

Depends on who gets taxed. If it is the upper class and corporations that can afford it then yes the Democrats will be blamed. If the raises come to the middle class who is already struggling then I hope it is the Republicans who are blamed.

Why do people always say "raising taxes". Maybe dems aren't raising them but putting them back where they belong. Bush lowered them.

I would rather have a "tax and spend" democrat in office than a "NO tax and spend" republican which is so fiscally irresponsible.

Why do so many people worry about this anyways? We are talking about people who make more than 500,000 per year.

(The top 1% of the population controls about 40% of the wealth of the country, and the top 10% of the population controls about 80% of the wealth. Conversely, the bottom 40% of the population controls only about 1% of the wealth).

Of course!

Conservatives are always blaming the Democrats for raising taxes even though it's their beloved Republicans who are both raising the taxes and doing the ridiculous spending that requires them to do so!

No way; unfortunately, any bad thing that happens to this country is blamed on George Bush.

Of course they will. Even though its ridiculous to blame them for raising taxes, they will still be blamed for the tax increase. Repubs will need to shift the blame away from themselves in order to recapture power in 08.

Of course. The Democrats will be left to clean up after Bush's mess, and if it comes to raising taxes they will be blamed.
