Well I've heard bad things about people killing people, prison is what it was.

Okay, lets assume that your friend has some terminal disease and is going to die a rather unpleasant death.
Let me back up, if you watch Boston Legal on TV last week, they were defending a doctor in new Orleans after Katrina. This doctor knew that three patients would not survive and she also knew that their death would be caused by dehydration or starvation. Both of these are horrible ways to die.
Now, if your friend has cancer with absolutely no hope of recovery, I can understand how you feel.
And, to be honest, I don't know. I would hate to see someone suffer because the outcome won't change.
Maybe a little something to comfort them prior to their death would be okay. Hospitals do that all the time.
Maybe you should look at some serious pain management instead of euthanasia. Good luck to you.

Yes, I would. Just as I'd put a suffering animal out of his misery. My father has asked me to help him IF it becomes necessary, and before I watch him die slowly in agony- I will kill him.

think it depends on several things.
Is it because they are terminally ill / about to die anyway and they want to get it over with. or something else.
if the first option then i am more likely to say yes, the only problem is that there is the obvious risk of ending up in jail.

Although I believe in euthanasia, I would not jeopardize my future to do so. I would want to! We do it for our beloved animals if need be, and I think it's quite inhumane not to put people to sleep when the suffering becomes unbearable. I just would not risk going to prison. That makes me selfish, probably, but that's as honest as I can be.

Be very careful here. I have had to live with the burden of responsibility for authorising withdrawal of medical treatment that resulted in the death of someone I loved. The burden of responsibility nearly drove me to suicide. If you are in this situation you need to talk to the physician and let the responsibility rest with him/her.

Not unless you want to go to jail. Most states have living wills or terminal care. Anything else is termed wrongful death and could be considered assisted suicide which is a felony.

I would not. Only because it is against the law and I am not willing to jeprodize my future for their comfort, nor would I ask the same of a friendl.

That's murder in this country as well as quite a few others! The answer is, of course, NO!

No, I wouldn't. I may or may not try to stop them, depending on the circumstances, but I would not help.
