why is everyone emo?

why do so many people want to be emo? i know it just kind of comes to some people but, why?
please, no rude answers and, emo's, dont take this offencively.

All the people that say they are emo are just fallowing a fad. The people that you would really call emo just have problems with their life don't consider themselves emo but regular people with large problems in their lives. The people that do call themselves emo are just spoiled and make up problems with their life that don't exist and listen to music with bad vocals.

I'm not 'emo' per say, but i do follow most of the sterotype, except the cutting. Mostly its for attention. It's fun to have people come up to you and start making fun of you, espically when you can come up with a really good come.

Nothing though is more entertaning then having a non-emo listen to our music. Usually they run away if it's screaming, or if not, they say "Don't you know what this song is about? It's about trying to cut yourself after a breakup" That is silly. Most of it is about dying!(refer to the newest My Chemical Romance C.D.)

I don't wonder why people don't want to be emo. I assume the music gives most people a headache, and some feel that the Hot Topic crew will "eat" them. That is a stupid thing to think(no offense any one) trust me, they don't bite... Hard ;-) Others feel better dressing 'up' every day. personally, I like my jeans and t-shirt

I love the fashion! I actually am emo! I love the style! the wrist bands, the amazing shoes!, the skinny jeans! I am also a fan of the music. Screamo is so unique! but im more of the kinda girl who listens to songs with screaming and singing like bands such as: Eyes Set To Kill Saosin Escape The Fate and of course lots more. I think that the emo trend is a way to express your creativity with your style. * also,, i totally agree, cutting does not make you emo. Cutting is a way to deal with your emotions. And if you do cut it is best to tell an adult or get help so it doesnt get bad *

People in high school tend to be really emotional no matter what, and emo people just like to express that more than other people. There's a difference between being truly emotionally expressive and depressed and amplifying every one of your problems just to get attention. Some emo kids are genuniely expressive and some just like the title and want attention. Everyone likes their pain to be the deepest, and so people try harder and harder to be like "my heart bleeeeds." That's why people become emo!

idk y so many ppl WANT to be emo (it rly bugs me too)... I mean what's so great bout hating life and hurting urself (sorry for the stereotypicalness but I mean what else is there to it). And guess ppl think the depressed look is in now and they think it's cool and wanna be like others and that's why they all want to be emo. And not everyone is emo, ppl need to stop pretending to be what they're not. There are other ways to solve your problems besides cutting yourself and saying you hate the world. Like sing, or talk about it (first things that came to my mind). But I think ppl should stop all this emo stuff already and learn to enjoy the things they DO have in life, not hate it for the stuff they don't...

We have to respect them. Emo's is obviously short for emotional. If that's how they want to live, let them! There's nothing wrong with it. Just let them be who they are! :-D Did I answer your question??
Basically, emo's wonder why non-emo people are non-emo. They think the exact opposite of what we think.
