Hate to be pedantic but...need to refine the question - best film that Channel 4 ever put money into? or best film they ever showed period? Given that the latter is just a case of acquisition the former is surely a more interesting question...in which case East is East is a good choice but then on the other side so was Monsoon Wedding - which was acquired by and distributed by FilmFour in the UK. As for the bloomin' answer about Dispatches...yes, yes, yes we get it you don't like Muslims but then C4's trailer is flawed as it seems to suggest that jihad is a terrible scary thing rather than understanding the meaning more correctly as effort or struggle as in the sense to struggle to improve oneself or stay true to one's faith but you didn't really want to know that...did you?
