That depends on what the odor is. If it is heaver than air it will sink if it is lighter than air it will rise.

Totally depends on whether the odoriferous gas is denser or lighter than air. Most volatile organic compounds we associate are odor are lighter and hence they rise.

depends on the density of the odor relative to air around it.

temperrature effects density, higher temperature= less dense
if something is less dense than the air around it, then it will float, if it is denser than the air around it , it will sink
