Yes, one student can affect the classroom climate dramatically. I've tried to take my difficult student and make him/her the leader. This means, put the student in the lime light, in a positive way. Give the student responsibility and commend them for their leadership. Speak positively of them in front of the class. Give them a little resonsibility in taking the lead in the class. They will want to do well in front of their peers and will relish their classroom status and wonder at the wisdom of the teacher who has disovered and recognized their gifts and abilities.

Yes one student can affect the classroom climate. One way to encourage positive behavior is to praise and encourage the positive behavior. Try not to focus on the negative behavior. To be a positive component in the classroom, the teacher needs to make the place safe for the student - physically and emotionally. Try to make learning fun also will improve the student behaviors.

yes. Its like apples. If you put a rotten one in a bunch, that apple won't turn good , the rest will turn bad. thats what my 7th grade math teacher said a few years back.
