I love them all, but I would rather go clubbing with my boyfriend and friends. Atleast with them there are never fights or a dull moment! Please help me.

Just politely tell them that you can't make it. That you have made previous plans, and you hope that that will be ok. Make it sound like you are asking them, when really you are telling them. People like to think that they are in control.

I know how you feel! I come from a super intense "ethnic" family so to speak and they drive me bananas. If you can you should show up for a little bit and then kind of find your way out usually with the excuse I have to wake up really early tomorrow or I am not feeling well. If you don't want to go at all just let your parents know that you are not feeling up to it and promise to make it up to them. You could always say it's a close friends B-DAY & and you wouldn't miss it for the world.

Uhhh.... you tell one of your family members (whom you can trust with this) that you don't WANT to go to their gatherings because they're not pleasant but are filled with fights. Tell them they make you miserable, so you've decided to hang out with friends instead.

I'm sorry I can't make it tonight. Honesty, they will love you even if you miss a gathering.

Join the army. Then they will understand why you can't come.
