if it's the kind of animal i think it is, it's brackish..... which means it needs 50% saltwater, and it's a carnivore.... is there salt in the water, and are you feeding it little fishies??? do some research on your pet, and see what all it needs. it might be that it's in too small of a tank.... it might be stunting it.... also, check the water perameters..... it might need a water change.
good luck, hope he's ok.

It's not uncommon for reptiles to not eat for the first few days after moving to a new home. That could be the problem. A description of your setup will help determine if anything else is amiss. Water dragons unfortunately are sold with gross misinformation, and tend to wind up in cages that are excessively too small for them. Rostral rub (mouth/nose sores from rubbing on cage walls) are extremely common with water dragons as a result. 10 gallons is way too small, even for a baby. For a baby I would recommend something at least 6 feet long (he needs an area to swim as well), and something even bigger for an adult.

Dragons need a tank about 85-90 degree basking area and a normal temp. of 75 for the rest of the tank. Plus a large dish of water and baby Dragons should eat everyday or every other day. And do not use bark or gravel substrate it could kill it, if swallowed. Your Dragon might have a respiratory infection and needs a vet if he is not eating.

One of the main reasons reptiles don't eat is because the temperature is not where its supposed to be! Water Dragons should have temps between 85-90 degrees atleast during the day time! However do not keep high temperatures all the time. Give them a range of 75-90 degrees in their enclosure. And always keep fresh, clean water! Try giving them a warm bath, but do not force them to swim!

Are you keeping your water dragon warm?? I had 2 Iguanas and they had to be kept warm with heating lamps. My suggestion also may be to take him to a "Specialist vet" I broght mine in for not eating and my female was pregnant. I hope you find an answer. Also do a "Google" and search what the cause might be. Good luck! I'm sorry go to this website:

Call your local vet and ask him just what you've asked us. I'm sure he will give you some suggestions. Good Luck.
