I bought a ringotne and its in mp3 format. I want the song to play as a text message ringtone. It needs to be in mmf format.

For changing a song format for example from mp3 to mmf(as you mentioned) you need a program which can convert them to each other. Try these they are not free you have to buy them

Save the ringtone into the format you need. then u should be able to exportit in the mmf format.
