That dude did that in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Nazi dude. Remember? It totally fried his hand and left an imprint of the headpiece of the staff.

Depends on if they gave restrictions, or if I could get around it by, say, wearing a glove or something. But based on the movie, probably not if I had to bare-hand the thing.
