You could try to associate a sad memory of your own, if there is something that tends to bring you close to tears when you think of it.
You could also try to commit to the role and feel the pain of the situation in the play as if it really was happening to you. This takes good imagination and a bit of natural acting ability.
There's also always the old method of using some kind of irritant, such as a piece of onion concealed in your hand, or a tiny (I mean minuscule) bit of oil from a hot pepper on your fingertips. Please note: It's important that you don't put these substances in your eyes; usually just having them near your eyes or nose is enough to start the tear duct working.
Finally, I'd add that if you're doing this play on a stage, it's not likely that many people will be able to tell if you're crying actual tears or not, owing to distance and lighting. You may be able to deliver a very convincing performance just by studying what people's faces look like when they're crying or upset. Work with your director to get a sense of how much emotion this moment calls for, because with crying, it's easy to overact.

When I need to make myself cry, I think of really depressing situations I have experienced... Like when a loved one passed away, or when I broke up with someone I had fallen in love with... Just something that was special to me that I lost. Hope that helps!

Think of something upsetting or sad that has made you cry in the past. Really think about it. As you're saying your lines, think of the pain it caused you and how you felt. Or, think of the worst possible thing that could ever happen to you or someone that you love. It usually works.

you are able to favor some education earlier to the audition, notwithstanding, in case you fairly emotionally dedicate to the audition piece and that's one which could make someone cry, you need to be able to do it. that's a project to be that in contact which includes your thoughts and produce them up like that. after I did metallic Magnolias I had to do a monologue each evening the position i began tremendous and by using the top i grow to be sobbing - for authentic - no longer melodramatically. before each thing i could do it only by using 'being in the scene', notwithstanding after some nights it grow to be more suitable not difficulty-free so i'd examine 'chicken Soup for the Soul' memories only earlier i'd bypass on to get me in the right mood. maximum circumstances i could get there only by using believing that i grow to be the nature and that i had lengthy previous by skill of the death of my daughter. i fairly had to be in the instantaneous. yet another 'trick' is to imagine of unhappy issues on your human being existence and replace that feeling lower than what you're doing.

You could think of a melancholy moment in the past or you can stare out to the other actor on stage.audience or wherever your focal point is and DONT BLINK. Your eyes will become dried out and will start to produce their own lubrication. Try it out, its never let me down.
