Hey I'm 14 and I started my periods in October. So far I've had two. Its been 10 weeks since my last one, I've heard starting out they are irregular but this really is quite a long time. Is there anything at all I should be worried about or should I just forget about it? Oh, and by the way, there's no possible way I can be pregnant, I promise!!

It is perfectly normal, it could take a year or longer for your periods to regulate so don't worry. Welcome to womanhood :)

Hey, I had the same problem for about 8mths and i started around your age, theres nothing to worry bout just make sure you keep checking and keep a diary on when you start and finish if it goes on for a longer period of time say about 10 months plus take the diary to your doctors and have a chat with them, are you getting pains every month in that area or is there any unusual things happening when you do come on? Like being extremly heavy or just spotting a little then stop? If you need to talk bout it just mail me and Ill try to help you out with any problems because I got loads when I started but dont panic its the last thing you could do. Stress and worry and so many things can delay your period but im here of you need to ask any more problems. My periods are much better now x

I was exactly the same when I started. Sometimes i missed two or three months at a time when I knew there was no way I could be pregnant. It does settle eventually, usually after puberty when your hormones are stable - as a teenager they are up and down all the time.

It's nothing to be worried about, unless your periods start to become really heavy and painful when they do arrive, or there are times when you are going months and months on end with no period.

If you are still concerned after a year or so, make an appointment to see your doctor.

Don't worry about it. When I was 13 y/o I had my period for 17 or 18 days straight. AFter a year or two I became the most normal person (cycle speaking). Don't go on the birth control pill. Let your body do what it was meant to do naturally. You need to give your body time to adjust. Here is a good site to find out how to do things in a healthy way www.earthclinic.com

For the first couple of times, they might be very irregular. It can also go away and then come back (like many missed months). I personally have never missed a month :-( but I know some people who when they started theirs had it for two months and then nearly half a year went by before they got another. You really shouldnt worry. It will eventually come back. In the mean time, enjoy the months without it! :-)

Hey sweetie dont worry you are totally normal! It took 2 years for my periods to settle into routine - it panicked the hell out of me! Its hard to begin with because you think your an alien but your not - its a fact of life. And as long as you know theres no way you could be pregnant theres no need to worry. Everyones bodies are different it may take a few months or like me it could take a few years for them to be regular. You'll be fine - chin up! :-)

Are you sure the first two were proper periods? Not meaning to be patronising in any way - only our bodies are wonderful yet bizaar vessels - so you cant always go by the book. It is normal to be totally individual so your body will be slightly different to the next girls..as hers is to the next etc.. If this is really worrying you go to your doctor or family planning and they can give you all the re-assurance you'll need.
Good Luck
Keep Smiling :-)

There is nothing to worry about because when i first got my period at 11, it took two months, then it started again. But if it lasts any longer than two months, you should see a doctor.
