How do i get crusty mineral deposits off of my iron?

Vinegar.

Also put some vinegar water through the steam setting.

I'm not sure but RO water might work, it takes coffee stains out of porcelain mugs, You just have to learn about giant filters and how to make them(simplified). That it is you don't have a good chemistry teacher.

clean it with white vinegar

I use sandpaper and then a steel wool to shine it back up.
