It is originally done by Bruce Springsteen and it is called "Blinded by the Light", but the remake which you are probably asking about is by Manfred Mann's Earth Band called "Blinded by the Light".

The lyric is "Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night" and the song is Manfred Mann's Earth Band's, "Blinded By The Light ". There's a lot of misinterpretations of that song.
The song was originally recorded by Bruce Springsteen but gained popularity when Manfred Mann's Earth Band remade it.

"blinded by the Light" was written by Springsteen

A commonly mis-heard lyric, the singer is not "wrapped up like a douche" and what would that mean anyway?

Bruce said, "The original lyric is 'cut loose like a deuce' referring to a two seat hot-rod, a little deuce coupe. Manfred Mann changed the lyric to 'revved up like a douche.' which is a feminine hygienic procedure." It should be noted, however, that Manfred Mann's website lists the lyric as "deuce" rather than "douche". It was once rumored that Chris Thompson's New Zealand accent may be responsible for swapping deuce for douche. (citation below)

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
(fade out)

Madman drummers bummers
Indians in the summer,
With a teenage diplomat,

In the dumps with the mumps,
As the adolescent pumps
his way into his hat,

With a boulder on my shoulder,
Feeling kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round

With this very unpleasin,
sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground.

(pickup) the calliope crashed to the ground....

and so on

wrong lyrics, the song is "Blinded by the light" by Manfred Mann
it's actually: Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night.

You're interpretation of the lyric is not quite correct but it was "Manfred Manns Earth Band" and I think it was about 77 or 78.
