My bottle has 450mg of Tumeric and 50mg of Tumeric Extract. Take 1 a day of those. Another bottle has 50mg of Tumeric and 450mg of Tumeric Extract. Take 3 a day of those.

Which one is better? And what is the extract? Very confusing to me. Is the Tumeric or the Extract that does your body good?

Check out the article from the source given below. According to it, it's the extract that counts. Therefore, the pill that contains more of the extract would seem more potent.

It's interesting, however, that it's the one with a heavier content of the extract that has the daily dosage 3 times that of the other...

Number One, do not use the concentrated extract (curcurmin) in high doses, especially if you have bile duct obstruction, gallstones, or stomach ulcers.
OK, the beginning dose should be 500 mg 2-3 times per day of crude powder, so both of those sound fine. But what you need to look for, whether an extract or pill, is the ratio of the herb to the other ingredients. Usually it is expressed like 1:5, etc. The one with the higher herb ratio is the one you should put your money into and take.
