Try Jesters comedy club in stokes croft, or the comedy box in bedminster at the weekend. The alma tavern in clifton puts on some fringe (and usually witty) plays. Whiteladies road in clifton is best for an upmarket pub crawl or decent meal, or try el puerto (next to the water) for a decent tapas and rioja, the atmosphere is lively.music-wise if jazz is your thing there's a pub opposite the landogger trowl ( forgotton what it's called) but it's... nice.

there is some really chilled out bars along whiteladies road - restaurant wise... zero degrees is awesome - a bit expensive but the food is worth it !!. live music, the fleece is good or the croft (both have websites). there are plenty of clubs in the centre but its difficult to advise you one when i don't know what kind of scene your into.
*** one thing, if you like cider and a tradional english pub visit the famous correnation tap!!! this is a very cool pub with some of the best cider in england!!!!!!!! *** (plus good music... well, indie rock)

what about Yates on Bristol city centre? But I would go on a Thursday/Friday because otherwise it gets too busy with lots of teenage pub crashers invading the place. There are lots of great restaurants here also,or you can eat at Yates !
