Not as long as a dictator continues to abuse his military power. The Republicans are telling him not to send the 21,500, the Democrats are telling him not to, and they won't approve the funding, 75% of the AMerican people are telling him not to, and this, after he already has sent 135,000 troops. So yes, the Commander in Chief can "democratically" destroy the US and really do whatever he wants with all the guns, tanks, soldiers, jets, subs, aircraft carriers and nukes - whatever he wants, as Cheney is so willing to flaunt on tv. I will say it again as Cheney's statement needs to be repeated - "The President can do whatever he wants with the military as he is the Commander in Chief and does not need the approval of Congress or the Senate or the American people". He told this to CBS today ( I think it was 60 minutes ) but I have not seen the full broadcast.

Good question. Think of it as you would of the destruction of all great nations/empires. Just as Rome became lax and let nomadic peoples flood in and destroy it, we are doing the same.
They say that a great nation starts out with many wants and little as far as wealth, but as time goes on the hard working populace becomes more and more wealthy. In time the populace begins to take this for granted, and the lazy begin to covet what the wealthy have. The wealthy then become more lazy because they don't see a point to working hard. More socialism leads to greater apathy and division of the classes. Politicians gain power via select classes of people who they can lock into their voter bases (In our case Mexican illegals). They give them benefits they never earned, and rights they do not deserve as they are not citizens. In time this population grows and grows, and they want all the government can give them. Eventually this destroys the greatness of the nation and it becomes a European style socialism, with much unrest and little capitalism or fairness to the hardest workers or most original, but rather the politicians who provide for them.
This is how these nations end.

While not impossible it is highly unlikely.
First immigrants with this kind of agenda would have to represent better than 50% of the population in every state. Then they would have to have a candidate running in at least half of the states that they could vote in.
What is more likely is that they could begin to influence the current population to their way of thinking. This then would achieve the same effect. But consider how long that would take.
If the people of the United States are anything it is independent. While it is not impossible to sway some people it is very hard to sway all people to accept and then vote in another way of life.
Consider the liberal platform. How successful have they been at electing a President. We all have our opinions on that but it the true sense.....never.

Actually if it will be "destroyed" it will be distroyed by an uninformed public who gets lazy on keeping tabs on politicians.
Inmigrants add TONS of wealth and ideas to the US.
Not all immigrants are leftist either.
As for left and right, both have some good ideas, the question is how far to go in either directon on a given issue.

George Bush has a plan to grant permanent anmesty to 8 to 14 million illegal aliens. Maybe they will all vote Repulican, since it is a republican who wants to set them free.
