Yeah, tons of times! And then what would make it worse is that I'm not American (I'm Pakistani), don't act like Americans, don't talk like them, and don't look like them in any way! I even dress differently, so that made it much more worse! It was elementary school, so the kids weren't quite aware of other cultures. They thought I was an alien. LOL! So cute! ;) But it didn't affect me or my studies or my cultural ideas even one little bit. I continued being myself, and they gradually adjusted to me as I did to them. Thankfully due to me, some of them learned that they weren't the only people in the world and that not everyone in the world looked, dressed, acted, talked like them; they realized that there was a whole new and different world out there. Many also found that too hard to bear so just didn't respect or accept me, but like I said, it didn't matter to me at all.
But right now, I'm in college, a place where you get to see much more cultural diversity. ... And no more "I'm the new student!" Thank God! So all's well now!

Well... I am in college now, but yes - I was the new kid in school a few times when I was younger. I didn't adjust as well as you seem to have... I missed my friends and kept telling myself until my junior year of high school that maybe my mom would realize what a huge mistake moving was and go back to our home town. ... Instead, about when I started getting settled in with my new friends, she moved to a new school where I definately didn't fit in!
I ended up dropping out when my teachers handed me a $600 shopping list and when I spoke to the councelor about classes being too expensive, she told me to get on welfare.
Enjoy the school :) I lived in San Antonio for a little while when I was 19 - great city! Plenty of great people to hang with!

I was the new kid in school once. I was teased because of my hair and the way I talked. But as school progressed I gained many friends. I was smart. I won the school science fair that year, I got an award from Rice University and I was accepted into The Delta Club. And I was only in the 4th grade!!. I wasn't popular but my presence was Known.

I was the new kid my Freshman year in High School. I had a constant voice in my head saying, "No one will like me" "I won't make any friends" etc. I eventually got a small circle of friends. I was never super popular. But here's the kicker: All that was over 30 years ago. I lived thru it and found the other side.

Talk about being the new kid.. LOL, I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Always going into the city. My high school had about 5000 people in it. When I graduated, I decided to go to a college in the middle of Lakeland, FL. COMPLETLY different from NYC. Don't get me wrong, Lakeland is beautiful, but when your use to the city that never sleeps, then go to a town where the city falls asleep at 7pm. It takes some getting use to. Besides, I was one of the few Hispanic people from NYC. It was great, my new nickname became Brooklyn, and everyone was into my accent. I had people coming up to me saying "Brooklyn, just talk to me, I need to hear you talk" It was great!

Okay well, I went to the same preschool for two years...I had friends lol! I went to a different school for kindergarten...I was a popular 5year old lol! Then I moved to this other school in 1st grade...It was hard to make friends but I did. I had to leave in 2nd grade and I went back to my kindergarten school, then we moved back a month later. In 5th I moved back to the kindergarten school. The next quarter I moved to a totally new school. I stayed there til the middle of 7th grade. I stayed there for a quarter and didnt like it so I was homeschooled for a quarter. In 8th I went back to that school and I love it! Im making friends, being loud, and playing sports!
-wonderful story huh? all true

Yes i was in the 8th grade. I left home to stay with my cousin for a bit in oak hill, west virginia and see i am from kentucky. People laughed at how i talked because up there they talk all proper well city talk and here i was saying y'all or youns. But most of them said they loved the way i talked but i don't think they did.

Yes, I was. A major school in my district was closed. We were all seperated and scattered.
Somehow, I got popular at my new, EVIL school. I actually became PRESIDENT of the school for student council. Made a speech in front of the whole school and beat some of the most popular girls in the school!
Woo ^.^

Yeah I have - we moved at the beginning of sixth grade. It wasn't really any major adjustment but everyone at school made fun of my accent. I just ignored them and it stopped after a while.
They also made fun of me for being really smart. I'm not even that smart but it's just that the area that I was from had a much better education system so I was ahead of all of them.
